Health & Wellness for All!

Do you want to get fitter? Looking for a fun way to improve your health and to feel good about yourself?

We offer a range of fitness classes in Surrey designed for all ages and levels to help you get back into the habit of regular exercise.   We all need to undertake a range of activities that help to build and maintain aerobic fitness, flexibility and muscle strength and endurance.

Our aim is to give you enjoyable, fun and effective classes in an environment that makes you want to keep coming back! We will work with you and give you options in each class that are suitable for you and you can progress as your fitness improves.  Don't take our word for it - please read the class testimonials and see what others say.!

Pilates - What is Pilates?

Pilates consists of slow controlled flowing movements that primarily strengthen the “core” muscles that stabilize and support the spine, realign the body and correct postural problems. It can help:-

Pilates brings mind & body together, focusing strongly on total concentration, balance, precision and breathing. As you complete the exercises, you will be come more aware of how your body feels during the exercises – and you will be able to use this awareness in everday activities.   It can take years off how you look and feel.   In Joseph Pilates own words "In ten lessons you'll feel a difference, in twenty you'll see a difference and in thirty you'll have a whole new body"!

Come along and give it a try. Beginners & improvers classes include demonstrations of each exercise - together with explanations of the purpose of each exercise.  Adaptations and progressions will be given to those with postural or health problems and for those who want to work at a higher level.   Mixed ability classes have a faster pace and are aimed at those with more Pilates experience.

What happens in a Dance Fitness class?

These classes will give you a good aerobic workout - that you won't get from Pilates alone.  The class starts with a warm up and stretch routine to the latest tunes, then we move on to an aerobic session to give you a good cardiovascular workout. We also work on your arms, legs, abdominals and back muscles and finish with some stretches.

Each part of the class consists of a “routine” of exercises set to music to keep you singing along! You will be given a range of options for those who need to start gently and progressions for those who want to work harder.

Its great fun and you can give your heart and lungs a great workout whilst bopping to your favourite tunes. You will also improve your balance, co-ordination, motor skills and burn some calories!

Come along and join in! You can work at your own pace and you will be amazed at the improvements you will feel after just a few weeks.

What equipment do I need?

Just come along in comfortable clothes and bring some water to drink. For Exercise to music, please wear trainers to support your feet properly. For pilates, bare feet or socks are fine.

Ideally you need your own mat and we can provide these for you and then you can take it home to practise during the week.  To start with, you can use the school mats in the hall.
